Hi, my name is Mike Stouder and welcome to my latest project.

My company, MH & K Construction has been building homes in the Portland area for the last 10 years. Starting with single family residences and expanding into rowhomes, commercial properties and duplexes, MH & K has overseen a wide variety of building conditions and buyers.

What sets MH & K apart from our competitors is an unending committment to detail. I was an professional home appraisor before getting into the construction business and saw firsthand what poor workmanship many of these builders were using. I've literally been in thousands of homes across the Portland Area, and have inspected siding, seen leaky roofs, broken doors, terrible insulation, and much much more. It always amazed me that these builders did not take 5% more time to make a product that was 100% better - they just continued to crank out homes and deal with lawsuits that go along with them.

I saw an opening and started building homes myself and while everyone else started building bigger and bigger developments and focusing on volume, I quietly built my business - one floorboard at a time, one sink at a time and one happy customer at a time. I always knew that the key to long term success was not in volume at the expense of all else - but rather building satisfied clients.

Needless to say, as the economy goes through difficult times my competitors are in a bit of trouble - they have overextended themselves and are now getting a bit desperate. Here at MH & K business is really not all that different than it was before. A few years ago when it looked like the economy was going to slow down, we started building more affordable homes. My latest project here is the perfect complement to the trying times of this economy and we're pleased to have it on the market in the spring of 2009.
